Giants Dominate At Krause Invitational

The Fremont Ross boys and girls track teams continue to make a powerful statement this season, delivering another dominant performance at the Bill Krause Memorial Invitational hosted by Tiffin Columbian. Competing against 11 total teams, both Ross squads rose above the field to bring home championship trophies in impressive fashion.
The Lady Giants led the way with a commanding 144.5 points, finishing well ahead of second-place Perrysburg, who tallied 100.5. Not to be outdone, the Ross boys secured their own title with 151 points, holding off Perrysburg’s 135-point effort.
“The team just continues to impress,” said Head Coach Cristian Booze, emphasizing the consistency and drive his athletes have shown week after week.
Ross athletes turned in standout performances across the board, capturing victories in multiple events. On the boys side, Ty Brown sprinted to a win in the 100m, while Gabe Wensinger dominated the 400m. Mason Englund had a huge day, winning the 110m hurdles and high jump, and contributing to two victorious relay teams.
Those relay teams included the 4x100 group of Kevin Jones, Mason Englund, Jace Miller, and Stephen Reiter, as well as the 4x200 team of Kevin Jones, Mason Englund, Gabe Wensinger, and Stephen Reiter—both showcasing speed and precision. In the field events, Tallon Brown added another first-place finish in the discus.
“Each week they continue to bring it and push themselves to do better,” Booze added, highlighting the team’s steady growth and competitive mindset.
The Lady Giants matched that intensity with an outstanding performance of their own. Braxtyn Jordan captured the 100m title, while Lily Kiser went the distance with a win in the 3200m. The girls relay teams were also dominant, with the 4x200 team of Ashtyn Marsee, Malise Lee-Garrett, Lexi Nelson, and Braxtyn Jordan taking first, and the 4x400 team of Jocelyn Marsee, Ashtyn Marsee, Julia Norris, and Kamaya Jones closing out the meet with another victory.
In the field events, Tierra Parker powered her way to a win in the shot put, and Lexi Nelson soared to first place in the long jump.
“We had athletes step into roles at the last second today and they went in full throttle without hesitation,” Booze said, pointing to the depth and readiness across the roster.
That next-athlete-up mentality has become a defining characteristic of this year’s teams.
“We have a great team-first mentality, and that attitude will pay dividends down the road for us and for these student-athletes later in life,” Booze continued.
With momentum continuing to build, the Ross track and field teams now turn their attention to their first home meet of the season, as they host Toledo Whitmer in a dual matchup tomorrow.
Fans are encouraged to come out and support what is shaping up to be a special season for an exceptional group of student-athletes.
There are also a lot of great pictures from the meet—we had to share them thanks to the amazing work of our photographer, Dalton Harp, who continues to capture these moments at a high level.
